About Me:

I’m Holly Kohlmann (she/her): Wife, mother, doula, educator, and member of the LGBTQIA+ community. I passionately foster environments and relationships where everyone is respected. I’m committed to supporting families of all communities, identities, and dynamics.

As fairytales typically begin, my “once upon a time” began while searching for help with wearing my daughter. I was fortunate to find a local babywearing group, and their members provided such a positive experience that I joined the group as a volunteer educator.

As I spent more time with parents in our group, it became apparent that the education and resources we had for babywearing were needed in the car seat space. My spouse and I read the manuals and followed the instructions, yet to our shock, our car seat was installed improperly. We had no idea anything was wrong or the risk we ran driving with the improper installation. Our children’s safety cannot solely rely on the equipment we use; rather, it’s on us as parents to ensure they are being used the correct way. I yearned to share this knowledge with others, so I earned my certification as a car seat technician.

Next on my education journey was training as a postpartum doula. I hoped to be able to expand my knowledge and tools for supporting expectant and new parents as I continued to provide education and support to my community.

In 2022 an opportunity to again volunteer at a hospital close to home was offered. I completed training as a birth doula and dove right into the birthing world. With an ever-growing passion to help, I’ve continued to complete trainings that will help me better serve those I support along with helping me grow as an educator and care provider.

My deepest wish is for all birthing people, parents, caregivers, and little ones to have the support they need for their families. I hope that I can be a part of making your fairytale a reality.

When I’m not providing support and education to families, I can be found camping with my little goose and spouse, spending time at Disneyland, and exploring all that Southern California has to offer with my family and friends.
